Awareness Campaign on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR)

An impactful awareness campaign on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) was conducted today at SGGS Collegiate Public School, under the initiative “Resisting AMR, One Farm at a Time!” — funded by The Trinity Challenge, Cambridge (UK).

The campaign aims to support farmers in improving the health and productivity of their dairy animals while reducing the unnecessary use of antibiotics. It emphasizes simple and effective biosecurity practices such as maintaining hygiene, providing balanced nutrition, and ensuring good animal care to prevent diseases naturally.

Team from CSIR–IMTECH under the guidance of Dr. Anshu Bhardwaj, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), and the Superheroes Against Superbugs team collaborated to spread awareness about the One Health concept — highlighting the vital connection between the health of people, animals, and the environment.

Students actively participated in doodle making, slogan writing, poster designing, and quiz competition centered around AMR awareness and One Health. Ten outstanding participants were awarded fellowships of ₹1000/- each for their creativity, knowledge, and commitment to promoting awareness about antimicrobial resistance.

The event inspired young minds to become ambassadors of responsible antibiotic use and champions of a healthier, sustainable future.
