S Gurdev Singh, IAS (Retd.) re-elected President of Sikh Educational Society

Chandigarh, October 18: S. Gurdev Singh IAS (Retd.) was today unanimously re-elected as the President of the Sikh Educational Society (SES) for the next five-year term at the General Body meeting of the Society held here at Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26. He has been leading this prestigious institution since 2004. Under his leadership, the Society, which comprises eight educational institutions in Chandigarh and Punjab, has significantly contributed to education, religion, culture, literature, and sports.

Exercising the powers vested in him by the General House, the President re-nominated Col. (Retd.) Jasmer Singh Bala as Secretary of the Society. Dr Birendra Kaur and Advocate Karandeep Singh Cheema have been reappointed as Vice President and Joint Secretary, respectively.

In his annual report, Secretary Col. (Retd.) Jasmer Singh Bala noted that all educational institutions managed by the Society are consistently progressing. The budget for the upcoming year was unanimously approved by the General House. He stated that the financial position of all institutions is satisfactory and none of them bear any significant liabilities.

During this event, several senior members of the society, including Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Dr. Karamjit Singh, Dr. Dharamjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of Baba Bhag Singh University, renowned economist Dr S S Johl, former SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal, Col (Retd) SS Mann, Dr G S Dhillon, Dr Ujjagar Singh Dhaliwal and Dr Jaspal Singh Randhawa highlighted that the educational institutions of the Sikh Educational Society are achieving new heights. They credited this progress to the capable leadership of S. Gurdev Singh and the effective planning of Col (Retd.) Jasmer Singh Bala.
